 Episode 16 (Finale) Recap
"Little Captain"

The episode starts with Gyeore having a deep conversation with Mr. Kang.

 

After that, we see Yeonjoo and Gyeore going for a date.  

 

It turns out that Yeonjoo wanted to introduce Gyeore to her Mother that's why they went to visit her tomb.

 

Before that, Yeonjoo had a lot of fun again by making Gyeore carry her all the way up.

While Yeonjoo was speaking to her Mother, Gyeore was busy drawing something.  Moments later, Gyeore showed his sketch and it turns out that he drew an older version of Yeonjoo.

 

Yeonjoo almost got mad after seeing it, but that changed when she found out that it was Gyeore's cute way of saying that they should grow old together.  That's also after he showed his other sketch which was an older version of himself too.

Mr. Kang kept on insisting about his last wish.  Gyeore was against it because he wants Mr. Kang to live longer and he said that they only grant real last wishes.  But when Mr. Kang announced to everyone that his last wish is to have an early funeral, Gyeore had no choice but to give in.  In this scene, we see Yeonjoo comforting Gyeore by saying that wishes are wishes, and there are no good or bad wishes.  (At this point, Yeonjoo knows the real wish of Mr. Kang)

 

The next day, they finally set out out to grant Mr. Kang's "last wish"!

Seeing how Gyeore still looks upset, Yeonjoo made him promise to smile for Mr. Kang no matter what happens.

 

When they arrived at the beach, Gyeore was in for a surprise as it turns out that Mr. Kang's last wish wasn't really to have an early funeral but to have a party and celebrate Gyeore's "First Birthday".

Everyone was there to celebrate Gyeore's "First Birthday".

That was the last time we saw Mr. Kang, and a year later...

 

Gyeore is now the leader of Team Genie.  He and Yeonjoo are still busy as ever.

Everything is going well at the hospice and a Make a Wish Foundation and the Angel Village was also established according to Mr. Kang's wishes.

Everyone, except for the villains, had a happy ending.  Oh! Wait, maybe not for Gyeore as he was tasked to train a new volunteer who was just like him when he first arrived at the hospice.

The drama then ended with Yeonjoo and Gyeore welcoming the new trainee.  Upon seeing her, Yeonjoo couldn't do anything but tap Gyeore's back to encourage him.
